The Amity Affliction Spent A Special Night With Fans In Raleigh NC

I'm a teenager scrolling through music choices to find a new song for my Myspace profile that will tell everyone exactly how I feel, because who wants to use actual words when a song can do that for you? I stumbled across The Amity Affliction and now some years later, because I refuse to give away my age, even if the Myspace reference sort of does that for me, I'm driving to capture that same band live in action.
The line to the venue is long with hardcore fans ready to crowd surf, headbang, and mosh their way through the night, and not only excited for the headlining band but also for the acts that were set to grace the stage as well. Unwell, Many Eyes and Hail The Sun were all ready to get the crowd hyped up and share the stage with The Amity Affliction.
Unwell

Unwell kickstarted the night. The band hit the stage running, literally. Lead singer Matt Copley sprinted across the raisers and the band never slowed down after that. The crowd was enthusiastic as the band played a range of their songs including original singles like "Epiphany" and their hit cover of "Fast Car". Matt's interactions with the fans kept everyone engaged and the energy the guys showed sparked the whole place into life. With only a thirty-minute set Unwell ignited the crowd's energy and gave the fans a start to what was going to be an unbelievable night.
Many Eyes

Following that stellar performance from Unwell was Many Eyes. Even though this band was only formed in 2022 you would never know it by the way they command the stage and have quickly gathered the love of fans nonetheless. The whole set was perfected violence and uplifting beats, intense riffs all while throwing in outstanding guttural screams. Frontman, Keith Buckley, knew exactly how to get the crowd going and within the first 5 minutes, crowd surfers were flying over the barrier. The high energy from the band was present from the first note until the last and kept the momentum up and the fans ready for more.
Hail The Sun

The passion of the fans was already running high from the first two bands, but the potential for even more was there as Hail the Sun took the stage. Vocalist Donovan Melero hefted his mic stand in the air and away we went, with that mic barely ever touching the ground during the entire set. Melero was a lightning bolt, consistently moving and dancing and even taking the time to sit behind the drum kit and play and sing. His passion for music shined through and radiated through to every person in the crowd as well as the other members of the band. With every guitar solo or intricate chord progression and screaming bass section, you can’t help but feel the emotion flow through you. It was a beautiful way to get the fans ready for what they had been waiting for the entire night.
The Amity Affliction

One of my favorite moments of any show is when the lights dim, the house music is gone and everyone is waiting with bated breath for that one band to finally come out. That moment was upon us as everyone eagerly awaited The Amity Affliction. Each member made their way to their spot, the first note hit, and the lights came on, and off we went. The Amity Affliction has a unique way of balancing melodic metalcore with old-school heavy metal, but they somehow never lose sight of the importance of groovy melodies that keep the fans on their feet and moving. Joel Birch has an intense stage presence that not only intimidates you but also makes you want to headbang your heart out. His presence draws you in, but the way he can switch from those harsh growls to clean vocals will have your throat hurting just looking at him do it. The band is a brute force on stage and engages you from the moment those lights come on and luckily for anyone who has not caught this band live, there are several more tour dates on this tour. So go grab tickets in the city near you and go spend some special time with this band. It's a night you'll never regret.
